Every city change over the time but Lahore changes so rapidly. Like! We all have seen, how Kalma Chowk has transformed into entirely new look within few years. It’s the place where Lahoris have seen with varying levels of glee, enchantment, frustration, some absolute anger and the many faces of hasty life over the years, as it used to be the most important and immensely busy intersection of the city. But no one forgot to pass without appreciating its beautiful sculpture resting in the middle of a lush green roundabout with amazing calligraphy on it.
First the roundabout was narrowed to a small strip of grass to make enough way to increasing traffic. Then few years back, the beautiful sculpture was knocked down to construct an overpass to control immense traffic on Ferozpur Road.
Fast forward to fulfill a bit more development needs to this metropolis ended up the construction of a new underpass to facilitating traffic but that chore left nothing same over here even the iconic landmark vanished permanently in the jungle of concrete and flood of urban lights. Though the place is still beautifully constructed with modern version of architecture but some still remember the old town fondly.
