On his visit to Pakistan in 2019, the then Prime Minister of Malaysia Mr Mahathir Bin Mohammad gifted an exquisitely designed 5-door Proton X70 SUV to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Malaysian automaker, Proton launched their spectacular X70 compact crossover SUV in Pakistan on 18th December. Keeping in view the pandemic situation, the launching ceremony was held virtually in Karachi with a very few audience in-person. Due to pandemic, the ceremony was broadcasted live on Facebook live stream.

The launching ceremony of Proton X70 was hosted by famous TV stars Ali Ansari and Naveen Waqar. In the launch ceremony, specifications and details of Proton X70 was explained by the hosts. Here are the details of features loaded in X70.
Engine and Performance
X70 Proton is coming with 1.5L turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine generates 177 horsepower and 255 Newton-meter.
The vehicle is going to be launched in two variants in Pakistani Automobile Market. One is All-wheel Drive (AWD) and the other one is Front-wheel Drive (FWD). Meanwhile, the transmission of X70 is 7-speed automatic DCT.
Modes
The new coming SUV has two modes which the user can use as per their needs. Eco mode and Sport mode.
Brakes
The SUV is equipped with ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels with ABS technology.
Exterior
The aggressive statement that is delivered by X70’s front grille and bumpers is astonishing. The sides fo SUV are given chrome lines that gives it an elegant look. Further, It has 18-inch wheels.
The base model of X70 has halogen headlights with DRL whereas the upper variant is expected to have adaptive LED headlights with auto dip features. At the rear end of the car, there is a spoiler, LED taillights and dual exhausts that gives it a classy look. Rear screen has a standard wiper too.

Interior
Coming to the interior of Malaysian X70, here we get the leather seats that are elegantly designed. Undoubtedly, the vehicle is designed to carry 5 passengers including driver. Hence, to make more room for your luggage, there is an option to fold the seats of 2nd row.
The dashboard is designed with two colours: black and silver. Dashboard carries the infotainment system in the middle that is connected to 8-speakers, an amplifier and subwoofer. Particularly, the higher variant of X70 has a panoramic sunroof too.
The X70 carries the Geely Smart Ecosystem infotainment system which is capable to perform the functions based on user voice commands. Moreover, it has WIFI and GSM sim slot that offers you the mobile data coverage while you are on the roads.

Safety
The Malaysian SUV Proton X70 is fully loaded with the safety features having six airbags, especially the ABS brakes, auto brake hold, brake assist, hill assist, tire pressure monitoring, and EBD. It also offers the Advanced Driver Assistance System that consist of line departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, auto high beam, autonomous braking and adaptive cruise control.
Moreover, The premium variant of X70 is equipped with 360–degree camera view system.
Price of Proton X70
Although the X70 launching in Pakistan is only CBU unit. However, Ibad Jamal, the Marketing Director of Proton said that the pre-booking of locally assembled Proton X70 has also begun.
Furthermore, the price of Executive AWD is Rs.4,890,00 and of Premium FWD is Rs.5,390,00.
The warranty offered by the manufacturers in 5 years/150,000-kilometer which is much better than the other newly launched SUV’s in Pakistani market.
