The government of Pakistan is looking forward to starting the COVID-19 vaccination for the 18+ people in Pakistan. For this purpose, Government is determined to start the COVID-19 vaccination for 18+ after the Eid-ul-Fitr.
If there occurs no shortage of vaccine availability, then the COVID-19 vaccination drive for above 18 years will start after Eid. This announcement was carried out by NCOC’s head Mr Asad Umar however he didn’t specify any starting date for this drive.
Asad Umar said in an interview to the anchor Imran Khan,
Our next main focus is to start a vaccination procedure for people within the range of 30 to 39 years. Further announcement for this drive will be made soon
Furthermore, he said that the government has obtained sufficient doses of vaccines. But we are trying to increase the capacity of vaccination of provinces. The less number of vaccination centres is the reason that people have to wait for their turn.

He further added that currently, Govt is delivering 140,000 doses of vaccines daily to the people but they are hopeful to take the number to 300,000 in the coming 10 days. A further plan is to increase this number to 400,000 vaccines a day till the end of May.
Right now, Pakistan is facing the 3rd deadliest wave of coronavirus. 90% of the oxygen is in use and several hospitals are not admitting patients as they have reached their capacity.
Moreover, the vaccination drive for people age 40 to 49 has been started on 3rd May.
