In a recent statement, the ministry of education has announced to vaccinate all teachers and support staff around Pakistan by June 5. The decision is taken in the light of the reopening of educational institutions and for holding a safe examination.
The federal education ministry has made it mandatory for the examination and invigilation staff to be vaccinated before the commencement of board exams.
Furthermore, the federal institutions in Islamabad are to remain closed till June 6. Earlier, the educational institutions were scheduled to open on May 24 but the high ratio of COVID-19 in the Capital halted the reopening of schools.
Currently, the coronavirus positivity rate in the capital city of Islamabad is about 6%. Therefore, the decision to the halting reopening of institutions seems right. However, the NCOC will review the condition of COVID-19 in Islamabad on June 3 before the reopening of educational institutions.
The Federal Directorate of Education said in a notification, “The educational institutions working under the Federal Directorate of Education will remain closed till June 6.”
Moreover, the National Command and Operations Centre has allowed the opening of educational institutions on June 3 in the districts where the positivity rate of coronavirus stands below 5%.
So far, Pakistan is fighting in a good manner with the 3rd wave of coronavirus and it is hoped that sooner Pakistan will end all the restrictions regarding Covid-19 in the country.
