Pakistan’s automobile industry is growing rapidly and new companies are establishing their assembly plants in the country. One of the company is MG (Morris Garages) who recently took the start of their services in Pakistan and now they are constructing their assembly plant in Pakistan.
MG Motors Pakistan has announced that they are going to start the local production of their vehicles very soon. The announcement made on their official Facebook page brought happiness among the MG lovers in Pakistan.

“Construction of the first MG Motor’s assembly plant is in progress under the supervision of both Pakistani and Chinese experts. Very soon, we will be capable of taking the next step of producing vehicles in Pakistan. A great step forward, not only for us, but for the whole Automotive Industry in Pakistan.”
Location of Plant and Capacity
The plant was launched in November 2018 and is now in the completion phase. The plant is located over an area of 50 acres in Raiwand, Lahore.
The initial production capacity of the plant is 30,000 units per annum. The product range in Phase-I includes light and medium commercial cargo and dump trucks and SUVs.
The Recent Conflict
A month ago, a video got viral on social media showing the angry MG customers at the MG Motors Lahore. The customers had booked their MG vehicles and were facing delay in their deliveries. They were protesting and shouting against the administration of MG Motors.
The buyers had paid the full amount and were demanding their vehicles. The sole demand of the customers was to deliver their vehicles immediately.
In response to this conflict, MG released a social media announcement and stated that the company is taking various measures to facilitate MG customers. They further added that access to the vehicles is delayed and obstructed due to the global shortage of semiconductor chips. Due to this shortage, not only MG but other big brands are facing delay in the deliveries.
