Inauguration and Capacity
The Grand Bahria Mosque was inaugurated on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha on 6 October 2014. It has the capacity to accommodate 25,000 worshipers indoor. The courtyard and corridor that leads to the main halls of worship can increase the total worshiper to 70,000.
Architecture
The architecture of the mosques clearly illustrates the inspiration taken from the beautiful Badshahi Masjid, Wazir Khan Mosque and to some extent with the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. The famous architect Nayyar Ali Dada designed the architecture of Grand Mosque Lahore. He has been awarded with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his noble services.

Mosque comprises of four minarets that are 165 ft tall. A grand dome is constructed which is surrounded by 20 smaller domes. While the base of the mosque’s structure is 20 feet above the ground and is spread over an area of 50 feet. The exterior of the mosque is surfaced with 4 million Multani handmade tiles.
Design & Decor
The beautiful mosque has 6 arched shape wooden doors and over 50 white Persian chandeliers that increases the beauty of it. The imported custom-made carpets in the mosque are imported from the brotherly country Turkey. The minarets of the mosque possess an octagonal shape that gives them a majestic appearance.
The courtyard of the mosque is of the ‘Charbagh’ style which is an amazing landscape. A fountain is also located in the courtyard. The courtyard garden is confined by corridors on all four sides that are constructed in arch-shaped aisles and columns that give a majestic beauty to the courtyard.
Islamic Academy & Museum
The divine mosque is also a home to an Islamic academy and museum. It is a state-of-the-art academy located in the basement of Grand Jamiya Mosque Lahore. This Islamic academy offers the religious courses and modern education.
The museum in the mosque is located at the first floor of the mosque, where one can witness the rare Quranic collections that are displayed. Other things include an Islamic library and Islamic art gallery that exhibits several antique artefacts.
