The leading tech company of Pakistan, Netsol aims to build a state-of-the-art IT university in Lahore, Pakistan.
Netsol is one of the biggest software houses of Pakistan where the people from IT background dream to work. It is an American based tech company with offices in different parts of the world including Lahore. The software company is aiming to develop an IT university in Lahore, Pakistan by the name of Netsol.
The Chairman Netsol, Mr Salim Ghauri, on LinkedIn announced about this initiative. Furthermore he also disclose the name of the university as Netsol University.

This will contribute to promote the IT education in Pakistan. In the LinkedIn announcement, Salim Ghauri said that the company is hiring a Vice-Chancellor to govern the tasks, hire faculty, design the course work, curriculum and oversee the degree program and academic operations.
The establishment of a new state-of-the-art IT university by a well-reputed software house is good news for the IT specialists or IT students. The course curriculum will totally base upon the new technologies being launched in the IT world and this will result a great help for the IT sector because the IT industry looks for the graduates who are equipped with the best and advanced skillset.
Currently, the graduates coming from an IT background don’t have the proper knowledge of new technologies. Students only get to learn the old coding methodologies and software techniques that are getting extinct. More than 25,000 students graduate from Pakistani Universities every year but only 5000 are familiar with the advanced technologies and fulfil the local and foreign market’s criteria.
To promote our IT industry in the list of IT hubs, we have to take some serious steps. With the outdated curriculum and obsolete methodologies, inexperienced instructors, our industry can’t grow. Therefore, it is the need of an hour to have educational institutions that teach students with new skillset that is in demand. Not only students, but our instructors need practice and training too, to cope with the current scenario.
It is hoped that this initiative by NETSOL will bring a huge difference in the market. Moreover, IT specialists hope that this institution will meet the demands of IT companies. Rather than teaching students with Rattalization and work as degree-printing shops, university should teach something in demand.
