Established in 1863, the Pakistan Bible Society and Bible Museum Lahore was known as Punjab Auxiliary British and Foreign Bible Society. Since this museum owns the old heritage of Christianity and is a good way to transform the information to the Christian Community.
After the separation of the Sub-continent, in 1947 the name Punjab Auxiliary British and Foreign Bible Society was changed to Pakistan Bible Society. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Bible Society is a full member of the United Bible Society who work in almost 146 countries.
Bible Museum Lahore
In February 2013, the Pakistan Bible Society celebrated 150 years of completion. Moreover, on 9th February 2013, Bible Museum Lahore was inaugurated to commemorate the completion of 150 years of the Bible work.

The Bible Museum is located in the area of Anarkali, Lahore and it tells the history of Christianity to its visitors. The sole purpose of the Bible Museum is to provide the basic knowledge of Christianity to the Christian community and especially to the Christian children. The aim is to deliver the knowledge to the Christian kids in an interesting and effective way.
The foremost purpose of this society is to translate Bible. Primarily, Bible was written in Greek and Hebrew language.
There are over 400 items that are on display in the Pakistan Bible Society Museum. Hundreds of books are kept here that teaches the history of Christianity and Christians. Moreover, old weights, coins (Greek and Roman) are preserved in this museum that was used in Palestine at that time.
The Prophet Essa or Yassu Masih was a carpenter by profession and he was the prophet of Christians. Hence, a model of his carpenter shop outside his house is present here. In the Bible museum, a model house is made for the kids on the model of houses present in the era of Jesus. As a result, this attracts children a lot and they learn about Christianity.
There is another model in the museum that tells the history of the Bible and that model is of Qumran Caves. Qumran Caves is located in the state of Palestine and is important due to the fact that several manuscripts of the Bible were discovered from here.
