After seeing the increase in the cases of coronavirus, the government of Pakistan imposed a strict lockdown during the Eid vacations. After Eid, the government uplifted lockdown from many sectors and still, there are restrictions and strictness to follow the SOPs.
The strict implementation of lockdown and forcing people to follow SOPs have been fruitful and good results are coming. The COVID-19 positivity ratio has come down to 3.13% in overall Punjab. While the positivity rate in Lahore is about 2.42%.
Meanwhile, the health minister of Punjab Dr Yasmeen Rashid while in a press conference said, “The strict implementation of COVID-19 SOPs has led to the reduction of positive cases in Punjab.”
She further said eight more coronavirus vaccination centres will be set up in the coming week. She also requested people to get their vaccine doses as soon as possible.
Moreover, she raised her voice for wearing a face mask as it reduces up to 72% chances of coronavirus transmission. Hence the health minister urged the citizens to follow the SOPs strictly to stay safe and for the health of others too.
